Welcome Service

Many factors have an influence when it comes to choosing a labour destination and, amongst them, there are two key factors which are often pushed into the background, the social factor and the human factor.

Within this framework, bizkaia:xede has created a welcome service aimed at advising and/or informing, free of charge, on administrative matters and issues regarding integration in Bizkaia (housing, education, health, leisure, etc.) both to organisations as well as highly qualified people who wish to work in Bizkaia.

This service lies within the European mobility strategy for researchers in the ERA (European Research Area), and it is a member of the mobility network of the European Commission EURAXESS Services, created to promote and facilitate the intra-European mobility of researchers, and also of the Spanish Mobility Network, www.euraxess.es

PURPOSE

1. Advice and/or information on administrative matters:

- Legal matters and formalities to HIRE citizens from the EU and third countries.
- Legal matters and formalities to ENGAGE / INVITE citizens from the EU and third countries.
- Tax matters regarding Personal Income Tax Returns.
- Administrative formalities regarding vehicle registration, exchange of driving licences, Vehicle Inspection Test stations, etc.
- Legal formalities regarding Foreigner's Identification Number (NIE), municipal registration, Civil Registry, etc.
- EDUCATION: primary schools, secondary schools, Basque schools, nursery schools, language courses, universities, official university degree recognition. Linguistic models in education, etc.
- HEALTHCARE: Health card, health centres, hospitals, clinics, chemists, etc.

2. Advice and/or information on integration into the SOCIO-CULTURAL setting of Bizkaia:

- HOUSING: characteristics of the various regions, areas of Bizkaia, contact with real estate agencies, etc.
