CARMEN MÉNDEZ - BIZKAIA:XEDE

Bizkaia:xede is a non-profit association under the aegis of Bizkaia Provincial Government. Along with other Bizkaian private organizations, it started up in 2005 with a young, multidisciplinary team. Its remit is to create favourable conditions for attracting and retaining exceptional minds on innovative projects in Bizkaia, and thus form pockets of advanced innovation and knowledge.

Bizkaia:xede has a series of services for the community, these services are free. They include helping incoming workers to settle in; providing help; involving specialists in projects in Bizkaia; providing guidance; and finally, mediating, because these are the services which we have come to believe are necessary for Bizkaian society as a result of the surveys which Bizkaia:xede conducts in conjunction with universities, companies who conduct surveys of public opinion and consultancy firms.

Furthermore, Bizkaia:xede participates at local, state and international levels in job fairs, technology breakfasts, forums and other activities that enable us to acquire all our know-how. In addition, we’re members of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network, and we belong to the European Commission’s euraxess researcher mobility network. In fact, in 2008 we were made a Local Contact Point for this European and international network.
